Artist, teacher and juror. Francesco Fontana started in Paris, and founded his own Atelier in Milan, Italy. He teaches all over the world and his art is in collections in Europe, USA and Asia. He has exhibited in New York's Salmagundi Club with American Watercolor Society, juried the 2016 Conference of the Watercolor Society of Oregon, he is also faculty at Plein Air Convention. His newly released DVD Watercolor the Italian Way, Alla Seconda -- explains his creative approach to watercolor and plein air.

Art Critiques: Critique - $50. My constructive critique includes a state of the art of each fundamental: design, tonality, color, brushwork, concept. Right after this analysis I offer direction and good practice to improve the weakest skills.

Lesson Details & Fees: In destination workshop in Usa and Europe, I mostly teach watercolor. In my residential studio I teach oil and life drawing as well. My painting method will help you translate real life into pure poetry! This workshop will help take your painting skills to the next level. I will demonstrate the economy and expression of each brush stroke which will give your scene artistic personality. You'll make effective field notes and on-site color studies and create plein air paintings in a loose style inspired by the local landscape. Color transparency, brushstrokes and artistic interpretation of a scene will be the highlights in this class. I will provide open group critiques and one-on-one help for students. Fun and friendship is guaranteed!
