Michele Byrne

I've been traveling to teach workshops for the past ten years and truly enjoy teaching groups of 15 or less. My teaching style is very casual. I feel as artists we are visual people and learn the most from watching, therefore I start each day with some type of demo. From there I let students go ahead and give it a try.

The balance of time each day is spent helping students on a one-to-one basis, coaching them along. Learning to experiment and HAVE FUN is what it's all about!

Location of Lessons: In studio, On location
Lesson Details & Fees: Basically I teach two kinds of workshops.
PALETTE KNIFE & BOLD BRUSH: One of them focuses primarily on how to use the palette knife and brush to create bold and impressionistic paintings. I will teach you how to organize your story and create a strong composition from the start. By using strong values you can direct the viewers eye through the painting.

FIGURES: Another type of workshop I teach is how to add figures to your landscapes or cityscapes. I spend time with students showing them how to add figures in a loose and fluid style so they do not look stiff and contrived. Students can use palette knife or brush for these classes.
