Watercolor artist and instructor Cindy Briggs was one of our founding members of Art Cantina. We’d like to take this opportunity to introduce you to her work and her tireless teaching efforts.
A master of translucent tranquil watercolors, Cindy Briggs is known for her sundrenched cityscapes, luminous passageways and portraits with personality. Whether painting in Switzerland, Brazil, New Zealand, Japan, or on the California coastline, she paints from the heart what inspires her.
“My paintings share my serene point of view and vision is shared with fluid color harmonies, rhythmic and random brushwork, dynamic shapes, and captured patterns of light and shadow. Depending on my mood and subject, I choose between watercolors or oils. I take every opportunity to experience the authenticity and reality of my subjects by working en plein air or from life when possible. Painting is being true to whom I am and my interpretations evolve as I continue to connect with life experiences.”
An enthusiastic watercolor instructor, she has taken students around the world to paint. When not traveling, she teaches and demonstrates by invitation at regional art centers, art associations, Daniel Smith Stores and other art events. Students appreciate her personalized attention, encouragement to expand their individual style, and her positive teaching approach.
Cindy Briggs earned a Bachelor of Arts from Brigham Young University and worked for over 15 years as an Art Director for Top Ten Nationally recognized Advertising Agencies in San Francisco, Seattle and Los Angeles, for clients like Levi Strauss and Company, Sunkist, K2 and Adobe.
You can often find Cindy teaching with her best friend and business partner, Theresa Goesling. They are co-owners of Make Every Day A Painting Workshops, LLC.
