Join Patrick Kipper for his final studio workshop in Loveland, Colorado, in early May 2018. He welcomes fellow patineurs, sculptors, gallery personnel and museum curators who want to better understand the art of bronze patination as well as receive more information about expanding and enriching patina palettes.
Class size limited to 30 students.
In order to register and reserve your seat in this class, you must send in a completed registration form along with full payment of $450.00. No refunds after April 24, 2018.
Over 100 traditional and contemporary patinas will be demonstrated and/or discussed, as will patina facilities, health factors and many other topics. Since Patrick also works in fine art bronze conservation and restoration, these two fields will be covered too.
In years past, we have been honored to have foundries and artists attend this workshop from as far away as Australia, The Netherlands, South Africa, Japan, France, Canada, etc., making this a truly universal learning experience.
Please bring plenty of notebook paper and pencils/pens for taking notes, and above all, dress comfortably. Sorry, but this patina workshop is NOT a “hands on” workshop because of insurance limitations. [Can you imagine an insurance company allowing 30 people in one room with torches going and hazardous materials in use-all at one time?] The good side of this is that Patrick will be able to demonstrate many more patinas that could not be shown in a “hands on” workshop.
Patrick is internationally known for his expertise in the art of bronze patination and fine art conservation, as reflected in over 35 years experience in both fields, giving him one of the largest patina palettes. He is also the author of two award-winning art books: Patinas for Silicon Bronze, and The Care of Bronze Sculpture.
