Peggy Immel will focus on the unique aspects of painting the winter landscape, winter’s influence on light, values, color and atmospheric perspective. Field studies, photographs, and sketches will be used to study and develop pieces. Reference materials provided, but students encouraged to bring their own. Daily demonstrations in oil, but other media welcome. Weather permitting, the final day will be spent painting in plein air. Appropriate winter clothing, as well as a portable plein air easel required.
“I believe the ‘why’ of a painting matters more than the ‘what.’” –Peggy Immel
