This workshop has passed.

A unique opportunity to study figurative painting with an accomplished artist and instructor Margaret Dyer while experiencing the rich atmosphere of this lively Renaissance city that holds nearly a third of the world’s art treasures. Stroll the same cobblestone streets as did Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and Botticelli.

Space is limited to 10 students.

In this intensive studio workshop with Margaret Dyer you will work from a live model and photo references. You will also have opportunity for photo shoots of the model under Margaret’s expert eye for composition and color. References that will keep you painting for years to come. You don’t have to be an accomplished painter or pastelist as Margaret will help you with the basics if you need that. We’ll get plenty of time for painting, exploring, tasting and sipping. We’ll work inside and out and have a heavenly Italian experience!

Your accommodation is in the Oltrarno section of Florence just minutes away from the major landmarks, but removed from the hustle and bustle of the popular tourist section. You’ll experience authentic Florence like a local by living in an area known for its artisan shops and boutiques. Comfortable, welcoming, and typically Italian, it will be your home in Florence for most of your stay and a great base from which to start your Italian experience each morning. On Day 5, you will retreat to the hill town of Fiesole to relax and enjoy the fresh breezes for which it is known. There you will visit the Etruscan/Roman ruins and enjoy the panaramic view of Florence from the San Francesco monastery. Margaret will also guide you in working from the figure outside .

Join Margaret to advance your figurative skills, enjoy La Dolce Vita that is so much a part of the Italian lifestyle and let your beautiful surroundings feed your artistic inspiration!
